TRANSFORMATION STORY

ENTRYWAY:

The entryway makes an unforgettable first impression, featuring classic diagonal grey-and- white marble flooring, a French antique console, a nature-inspired light fixture, and a vintage rug.

Artwork by a talented Texan female artist adds a meaningful, local touch.

The colorful assortment of pots and planters under the console gives a preview to the highly curated, colorful, and layered design throughout the property.

LIVING ROOM:

The living room was transformed with a striking custom-printed ceiling wallpaper, scaled to fit the grand proportions of the space, adding color, movement, and character. The original gas fireplace was redesigned into a custom-built modern statement piece, blending traditional moldings with contemporary aesthetics.

To enhance the sense of openness, the living room was extended, and large steel-framed doors were installed, bringing in natural light and framing breathtaking views. Overhead, stunning blown-glass chandeliers featuring LED-lit ‘Gem’ glass shades radiate a mesmerizing glow, fusing artisanal craftsmanship with modern technology.

The custom built-in cabinets offer perfect niches to display a highly curated collection of antiques and decor from all over the world. The custom, double panel drapes add more fabulous layers of texture and depth to the room, while increasing functionality.

The furnishings, art, and rugs all also combine the perfect balance between carefully sourced antiques and equally carefully sourced modern and custom pieces.

KITCHEN:

In the kitchen, we reimagined both functionality and elegance. The small island and back cabinet were removed to make way for a grand, oversized island, serving as both a focal point and a practical workspace.

While the original wall base cabinets were retained, we elevated their design by replacing the doors with custom inset fronts, adding a refined, built-in look.

The cabinet interiors were upgraded with a luxurious wood veneer, complemented by new hardware for a fresh and polished aesthetic. Calacatta Viola marble, with its dramatic veining and timeless beauty, was selected for the countertops and island, creating a striking yet harmonious contrast. High-end appliances, a new sink, and a touch-to-start faucet with a foot pedal add the latest in convenience and innovation, seamlessly blending beauty with functionality.

The custom made glass modern chandelier over the island adds a complex, contemporary beauty to the space, while the green marble lined openings add another unique organic detail, that speaks to the colorstory within the Great room.

DINING ROOM:

In the dining room, elegance meets artistry with wall paneling and fabric wallpaper covering the upper half, creating a rich, textured backdrop.

Behind the bar, a sophisticated floral wallpaper adds visual depth- its intricate details and subtle textures bring flowers and leaves to life in a refined interpretation of traditional motifs. The bar itself is a statement piece, with shelves crafted from solid brass and glass, offering a striking balance of strength and elegance.

A vintage mirror from France enhances the sense of history and charm, reflecting light beautifully throughout the space. The custom venetian plaster & gold leaf ceiling adds some additional unexpected texture, and it serves as a nice backdrop to the very chic custom Italian chandelier hanging over the dining table.

Adding to the ambiance, luxurious green velvet drapes introduce a layer of depth and sophistication, framing the room with a dramatic yet timeless appeal. And, for a playful touch of whimsy, a mischievous monkey peeks into the design - a reminder that elegance and fun can coexist effortlessly.

POWDER ROOM:

Powder rooms are great spaces to play with color and textures, and that shows in this space. We selected this unique grasscloth wallcovering that perfectly coordinates with the green and peachy marble floors and adds such bold personality to the space.

The antique venetian mirror expands the room and adds a beautiful yet sleek old world charm. The sconces and pendant lights offer layers of ambient lighting, while the custom drapes and roman shade add a softness and privacy to the room.

STAIRWAY:

The stairway spaces were very large canvases for us to create something very impactful and unforgettable.

On one side, we have a layered gallery wall, consisting of many shapes, sizes, and time periods; antique tapestries and art mixed with newer, custom pieces done by the client's children.

On the other side, we opted for this very moody and textural forest scene, continuing the nature motif. We opted to juxtapose these natural feeling elements with a custom, contemporary Italian light installation, that adds a modern yet whimsical feeling to the space.

Under the stairs, we opted to have a zen garden display space, full of textural rocks, colorful orchids, and antique planters.

STUDY ENTRY:

As we enter her study, do not overlook the incredibly impactful vestibule space - donned with a fun wallpaper showing a bold, modern interpretation of classical Greek mythological figures, antique pendant light, and a family heirloom mirror.

Inside "Her" study, we are in a beautiful, soft sea of blue. This color was a fresh and feminine way to reimagine the space. The walls and shelves are decorated with one of a kind, antique pieces of art sourced from all over the world.

The LED strip lighting in the shelves and overhead chandelier add bright ambiance and life to the room. Again, the double panel drapes give us a soft, textural finish to the space.

PRIMARY BEDROOM:

As we enter the master, we wanted this space to feel soothing and ethereal but also a little bold and moody. To achieve that, we opted for this custom sized, landscape wallpaper, which is very soft and dream-like.

Juxtaposed to that, we have the bold, earthy burgundy paint color in a high gloss finish behind the headboard, ensuring for a large impact.

The soft, textural velvet headboard stands off this high lacquer finish beautifully, and the custom bird sconces flanking the bed speak to the wallpaper surrounding the room and our overall nature motif.
